Seva is a Sanskrit word that describes the act of selfless service.  The act of seva is done for the betterment of the collective without regard for the outcome of the individual. Seva is known to be one of the essential keys to a genuinely happy life and harmonious community. 

Many who experience the magic of Lotus Bend Sanctuary & Center inquire about how to be a part of the community in manifesting our vision. In response, we have created Seva Days, an opportunity to enjoy the land, connect with one another, and be a part of the Lotus Bend Sanctuary family in service to our neighboring communities.

A few times a year, we put out a call for help by hosting a Seva Day. On Seva Days, we open with a short meditation to connect ourselves with our heart, the land, the project, and each other. Then we tackle the project and share lunch together that we provide.  Participants choose how long they stay and how they help. Seva Days generally follow this schedule: 

• 9:00 am    Gather Up 
• 9:10 am     Opening Meditation
• 1:00 pm     Share Lunch 
• 3:00 pm     Close 

We have an ongoing list of projects and dreams at Lotus Bend Sanctuary. Examples may include:

• Creek Area Cleanup
• Install Entry Garden
• Green House Cleanup 
• Greenhouse Restoration
• Create Hydroponic Garden 
• Labyrinth Maintenance
• Walking Path Maintenance
• Painting
